"In the interest of employee and customer safety, the signature required guidelines are temporarily being adjusted.
This is a required adjustment all management must communicate to their service providers. Despite the relaxed signature process, we still need to make “contact” with the consignee. The intended consignee must acknowledge that UPS is making a delivery. Service providers should not driver release packages without the consignee being available to retrieve them.
The service providers must maintain the integrity of UPS by ensuring the intended consignee receives the package and if applicable verify the age (over 21) of the consignee.
These alternatives apply to High Value, Alcohol, Signature Required and Adult Signature Required packages – Driver must verify ID of consignee.
Required Temporary Signature Process: Do NOT hand the DIAD to the customer.
Also, monitors are being installed to communicate with the employees as no large group meetings will be held."
