"In the face of the challenging COVID-19 situation, the most important thing at Gate Gourmet is health and safety.
As one of several measures gategroup is taking across global operations, the Company has crafted a pandemic health questionnaire and are asking everyone – employees, customers, suppliers, government agencies, etc. -- to complete it before entering our premises. As mentioned on a call yesterday, we are taking this step to pre-screen for potential COVID-19.
The health questionnaire form, customized for the U.S. has been added to our mobile data collectors, and we are rolling out training for operators and regional teams this week.
Similarly, we are asking employees to be mindful of protecting themselves, their coworkers, customers, suppliers, and other business partners. We have advised employees should not report to work if they or members of their household are sick or experiencing symptoms of the virus. Instead, they should stay home and contact HR and, if appropriate, their medical provider. Hourly employees will continue to use Vocantas at 888-544-4283 to report any absences.
Consistent with current practice, any Union-represented employee asked to stay home would be able to use accrued sick leave and, on an exceptional basis, accrued vacation time as well."
